The Great Falls Balloon Festival comes around this time every year and I recall my title line from the series F-Troop that aired in the mid 60's. The character Chief Wild Eagle would yell "It is Balloon" quite often when he saw a hot air balloon.
We travel to Maine quite often during the summer months but I have only managed to get to the Great Falls Balloon Festival once to see them successfully launch a sky full of balloons. This weekend the forecast is looking good so if you're in Maine swing into the Lewiston / Auburn area at 6am or 6pm to catch the launch or spend a few hours wandering around the Great Falls Balloon Festival.

Hey Dan - LOVE seeing hot air balloons! We used to go over to Stowe Vermont in July for their Hot Air Balloon Festival - loved seeing the whole process of getting them unpacked, ready to go, filled up, and the lifting off ever so gently into the air. What a sight that is to see!

Dan - I love to see them. I love to "hear" them. I am too chicken to ride up in one. The best I can do is go up and down in one that is tethered. When the Florida RE/MAX Balloon comes to a function here, I get to help set it all up. It's an amazing thing.
Dan, I hate heights, but I would love to go up in one someday. It would be a blast.
Love the hot air balloons! We used to have them fly right over our house for years and some even landed behind our house a few times. What a beautiful sight in the skies! ☼
